Originally released in 2021 at the Tokyo Game Market in Japan, TRICKTAKERs has been referred to as "Root the card game" by many reviewers, players, and content creators within the Boardgaming Industry.

TRICKTAKERs features numerous characters that players will draft each round after receiving and assessing their hand of cards.
